An army of 1,250 Hitler stroke Nazi gnomes has invaded the German town of Straubing. Yes, you did read that correctly. The exhibition by artist Otmar Hörl , who recently ended up in a spot of bother with Bavarian authorities after some politically correct idiot took offence to the same, albeit golden in colour, gnomes, attempts to render them as ‘symptoms of a political disease’.

Sculpted (moulded, perhaps a better word) from black plastic, the Sieg Heiling little fellows will be on display in the town’s Ludwigsplatz Square between the 15th and 19th of this month.
A note regarding terminology:
‘A dwarf is smaller and not proportioned like an average person; a midget is smaller but is proportioned like an average full-grown person; a pygmy is perfectly proportioned but smaller than a midget.’
Gnomes and Lilliputians shouldn’t be confused with any of the above. In spite of this and the fact that Germany is the gnome capital of Europe, many locals have been referring to Hörl’s ‘Dance With The Devil’ exposition as the ‘Hitler Dwarves’. The latter are a really quite different thing entirely. . . .
