Hackers are out in force again, this time they set their sights on the Home Office website, embroiling Jacqui Smith in yet another ‘sex scandal’. The Home Secretary, my contempt for whom cannot be measured on any normal scale, is still in the media spotlight regarding, amongst other indiscretions, her husband’s use of the public purse to pay for pornographic films.
It appears that in this latest ‘adult entertainment’ incident cyber intruders hijacked a link to the Government’s Technical Advisory Board, and re-directed users to a Japanese pornography site. Instead of finding information on the European Union’s surveillance powers for combating terrorism viewers were treated to images of Asian hotties – or whatever the correct phrase is. The link was removed as soon as officials became aware of it.
Lucky the BBC snagged a glimpse of it first:

Of course, none of this would have happened if we all carried ID cards. . . .

Home Secretary, Jacqui Smith, Wielding An ID Card
